How do I convert video from an old camcorder to a digital file on my computer?

Do I need a special type of wire? I’d like to do this using Windows Movie maker which I have on my computer. My old camcorder uses 8mm video cassettes. Thanks.

How to convert a video to use as my image on Live Messenger?

Hi, I’ve already searched the web but couldn’t find an answer. The fact is that I want to use a few seconds of a video as my picture on Microsoft’s Live Messenger. But it’s not working. Does anyone know what are the specifications for that? I already know that the time limit is 4s and the format must be 96×96 pixels. I’ve tried with the Windows Movie Maker but I couldn’t change the format to 96×96. Does anyone knows how to do it? Thanks!

I am positive most of you with an iPod video, have previously owned videos you might want to have on your iPod but aren’t quite sure how to go along doing this. It is the case of many of the people I know, so I will discuss this in this simple article.

1 – You must download a software that will convert your video file into a mp4 file. This is because the iPod reads this type of file.
Such a software is easy to find with keywords such as : Video converter on google to find this type of software.

2- Use this software to convert your video file to an mp4 file. Mp4 is a video format which the iPod’s Operating System can read natively. Converting is really easy with any application that is out there.

3- Add the video files to your iTunes. You can simply do this two ways: Either drag and drop the file to your iTunes library or go in the “File” menu and select “Add File to Library”. Then select your mp4 files which you want to add. It will appear in your iPod library in the videos section. If you’re file is not in mp4 format you will not be able to put the video on your iPod.

4- Update your iPod, wait for the transfer, and you’ve got your portable video.
Note you can also drag and drop the file directly to the iPod logo in iTunes and the file will be directly transfered to your iPod.

Well, there was a piece of soundtrack that I bought recently, and some of the music is off of the video file portions. I have a cheapy MP3 player…In other words, It won’t play video, which makes it just an audio player. So how do I convert this video in to an audio file, and successfully input it in to my old mp3 player to listen to it?
