Can Movies from Xbox Video Marketplace be watched on the 360 without an Internet connection?

I am wondering if a movie that has been rented/downloaded from the Xbox Video Marketplace can be watched without being signed in/disconnected from the Internet. I assume that as long as you are within the rental period you can (2 weeks to start watching, 24 hours to watch after starting)?
