Can you use video recorders built in to your laptop with windows movie maker?

So i have a hp pavilion dv7 if that helps.. I don’t know how to find my built in video recorder information. I heard however that with the new windows movie maker 2.6 version you cannot use the built in video recorders anymore? Can anyone confirm this? Because I can’t find the video record button anywhere on windows movie maker, I can only record my voice.. And if this is true does anyone know any other good programs like windows movie maker that will allow me to record video and audio at the same time?
