Video Marketing – The Next Big Internet Marketing Trend
It’s not hard to see why video marketing is quickly becoming the hottest Internet marketing trend. Web 2.0 is all about making personal connections, and using videos to market your Website or product gives anyone watching the video that personal connection that they need in order to become interested in the product or want to look around your Website.
In the past video marketing wasn’t really a good use of resources for companies because many people didn’t have access to the high speed connections necessary to view streaming video. But these days it’s more common to have a high speed Internet action than not to have it, and there are plenty of public places that offer free high speed Internet connections for people that don’t have it at home.
The lower cost of digital cameras and other equipment has also made video marketing a lot easier because you no longer need high tech equipment in order to make a great Internet marketing video. With a digital camera, or even a webcam, and a mic you can make a short Internet video that will help sell your Website or your product. Make sure that you put your video on sites like YouTube in order to spread the word about your site faster. You can even post your video on your profiles on the most popular social networking sites.
The more creative you are when you make the video the more buzz you’ll be able to generate. The concept of the video should be creative, but the video itself shouldn’t be overproduced or overly complicated. The more simple you make it, the more effective it will be. Here are some more tips for making a great video to market your Website:
Don’t put the video on your site because it will take up a lot of bandwidth. Instead, put it on YouTube or a similar site and embed it into your page. Using YouTube won’t use up all your bandwidth and it will automatically give people the code to embed the video or email it to their friends.
Make your video professional but not too corporate. Remember that you’re trying to make a personal connection with everyone watching.
You don’t need to buy a lot of expensive equipment. You can shoot at least a 30 second video with most digital cameras and even some webcams, which can cost as little as $30 or so.
Write a script even if you think you don’t need one. Your video marketing will backfire if you get on camera and can’t think of anything to say or if your video lacks focus and direction. Plan out the concept of the video from start to finish before you shoot.
Promote, promote, promote – Use the HTML code from YouTube or whatever site you use to share your video everywhere. Put a link in your email signature. Post clips of the video on blogs and on your social networking profiles. Enter it in contests. All it takes is a few people seeing your video, loving it, linking to it and spreading it throughout the Web for your video to become the next viral video smash.
