Installing a Transparent Video Isn’t That Hard – Now
When I saw my first transparent video, I was amazed. I liked how the guy walked out on the screen and talked to me. How the heck is that done? Find out how here.
So, what makes transparent videos so important? Transparent videos are unique and attractive. People like them. Studies of conversion rates show that people are more likely to buy your product, sign up for your list or do whatever it is that you are inviting them to do when you use these types of videos. My experience has been good with transparent videos, but I learned to to be careful with how I use them.
What are the problems? Transparent videos can be annoying. If they popup and are long, and uninteresting, people become impatient and leave your page. It is important to make your videos short and pithy. You need to make it possible for people to click on the image to stop playing the video. If you don’t take note of these issues, you will be working counter to your purpose. Please don’t have a long, transparent video appear on your page just when the visitor is settling in and starting to read your content.
Perhaps you have visited a website that employs the use of a popup sign-in form or some other message that “gets in your way”. If you are like me, you want that popup to get out of your way so you can get on with whatever you were looking to do! After all, you haven’t had time to decide whether to stay and look around, and then here comes an interruption. Be careful to use the videos and popups properly.
Until recently, it has been very expensive to add transparent videos to your website. If you paid to have it done, you paid dearly. If you tried to do it yourself, you were probably frustrated. I have noticed that it is quite difficult to find how-to information on this subject. I have struggled for months and I have found it difficult to learn the tricks. I have tried a couple of different methods.
One method I got to work using my website publishing software was to modify the html code that plays the video. This method is probably outside the abilities of most website owners. Variability and versatility in the way your display the video is wanted.
What are some of your options?
Perhaps you can have a SHORT transparent video appear just when the visitor lands on your page. * Alternatively, make the video appear after say, a 60-second delay. You could experiment with the time value and perhaps use some software such as Google supplies with Google AdWords to do a comparison of different lengths of time that work best. What if you have your video just sitting there on the page inviting the reader to “play me”. * You could use it to get someone to click on the video and have them sent to your opt-in page. * Perhaps you should have the video show up the FIRST time the visitor comes to your page, and not show again.
Josh Anderson has been successful in marketing software that gives you the ability to vary the ways your videos show. You can choose any of the above mentioned options, and many more. Recently, they made the software easier to install, too.
For those of you who have purchased other software and had support problems with it, let me tell you that my experience with the transparent player support has been exceptionally good. They have responded quickly and they have always resolved my problems.
One time very recently I was stuck. I was so frustrated because the video wouldn’t play. I felt that I had done everything right, but the video just wouldn’t play. I explained my problem to their support department and Joe was able to see where MY code was written improperly and that is why the video wouldn’t play. I guess I would still be trying to make it play if I hadn’t had his help. Support is a very important factor when evaluating software.
