what is the best video camera for a beginning film student?

3
I am in the price range of 700-800. I would be willing to get something used if it would really improve the quality of the image. I have been considering a Canon SLR that records video but something in me really wants the video recorder. Any suggestions? Good sound, good picture, explain the jargon? I need it to be compatible with my macbook. I seem to get lost in it all, it would be really helpful!

Hello! I think the EOS Rebel T1i is a good choice, which packed with features, both refined and new. In addition to its admirable performance with an all-new 15.1 Megapixel Canon CMOS sensor, DIGIC 4 Image Processor, a 3.0-inch Clear View LCD with anti-reflective and compatibility with the EOS System of lenses and Speedlites. You can find it at. While here is a deal that you can find online at and you could get it for around $700 instead of $800.
Good luck !

I would recommend Canon VIXIA HF S200 HD Flash Memory Camcorder
# Genuine Canon 10x HD Video Lens
# Canon 1/2.6″ 8.59-Megapixel Full HD CMOS Image Sensor
# Canon DIGIC DV III Image Processor

If you are considering a DSLR Canon EOS Rebel T1i 15.1 MP CMOS Digital SLR Camera

as a student, you should use cameras provided by your school. this gives you access to high quality equipment so you can get a better idea of what you really need in a camera. once you learn how movies/videos are made, your attitude as to what is essential is likely to change. if you plan on making movies eventually for theatrical release, then you will need sponsors and a budget. your sponsors want their money spent on production requirements and not personal toys for you to keep. so the industry mostly uses rented equipment as that can be put in the budget and written off on taxes as expenses. your personal equipment cannot be treated so favorably. it depends mostly on whether movie making will be a career or a hobby for you.
