What are the risks of playing video games for long periods of time?
I play video games probably 3-6 hours a day, depending on whether I have school or not. I was wondering what risks there are to playing video games for extensive amounts of time.

Obesity and lack of friends/social activity. If you are still getting exercise and still have healthy friendships, then there’s nothing wrong with it at all. If it starts to interfare with your life, rather than enhance it, then you need to cut back on it to maybe 1 hour per day.

You May have a stroke(its not a Common thing, It depends on the games) and it may cause damage to the amjor parts of the eye, such as the pupil and Cornea and it may Damage your Retina. And you can get Caple tunnel in your thumbs.
Not alot of these hapen commonly, if you take brakes.

Depends on the types of games you play really. If you hack away at a keyboard frantically trying to finish off the boss of level 12 with your new super-sweet combo chances are your carpals will detereorate and you will suffer from carpal-tunnel syndrome. If you stare at the screen for hours on end in a dimly lit room trying to figure out that cursed puzzle not only will you lack the required amount of Vitamin D needed for your body to continue functioning normally, but you will begin to fall prey to the ravages of fatigue as well as severe eye pain throughout the day.
There are social and metal disorders related to playing video games as well. Certain individuals will have trouble differentiating between the game world and the real world after prolonged exposure. Some cases of the players feeling invincible have also been noted, but at 3-6 hours a day chances of that happening are slim-to-none.
Six hours is not a long time to play video games for, just be sure to keep good posture, get sunlight and not overdo your eyes or your hands.
