How to get good image quality from computer to video mixer?
Hi. I’m planning on purchasing a video mixer soon, which has only composite and s-video inputs. I’m curious of anyway I can get good image quality to the mixer from the computer, since when I use s-video from the computer to just a TV, it looks blurry. I’m not expecting it to look perfect as a normal PC monitor does, just so the text isn’t as blurry and can be read easily. My computer has both a secondary VGA output and also an s-video output.

What are you trying to achieve?
The best results will come by setting your screen resolution to the mixer resolution, i.e. 720×480i or 720×576i or similar depending on whether PAL or NTSC. But realistically the output from the computer will look awful on small text etc. graphics should look okay. You will need to use sans-serif fonts and large font sizes to get a decent result.
You will also need to calibrate your graphics card when hooked up via S-Video, go through a colour and gamma correction setup whilst looking at the TV monitor to get best results, the standard setting for most graphics cards are way to hot for video.
