How do I record video from my Playstation 3 to my computer?

I have my PlayStation 3 wirelessly hooked up to the internet. I would like to record high-definition video of my actual playing, but I have no idea how to achieve this. I’ve read about needing a ‘video card’, but I don’t know what that is. Please help me find a program or something that I can use to record my gaming sessions – preferably in high-definition.
