Can I recolor a video without having to go through all the trouble of making clips?

Well, I am planning on making a Tokyo Mew Mew fan series, and I downloaded the Tokyo Mew Mew opening video so I could recolor it to make my opening. But I can’t just open the video in an editing software and making all of those clips takes too long. Is there any way I can open it in an editing software or something faster? Please let me know!
