What video making software can i download for free that works with windows vista?

I just got a new laptop and I’m trying to make a video for my graduation party. I’ve tried downloading all these different programs but when I try to install them, there’s always some error and it doesn’t work. Can you find me a link that directs me to a site where I can download one of these things? Thanks!
