How do I record the video on the tv from my video camera with my dvd recorder?

I hooked my video camera up to the tv so it plays on the tv but I can’t figure out how to record it with my dvd recorder. Does anyone know how to do this and is it even possible? I can’t hook my video camera up to the computer.
