The video card is not highly valued in the market nowadays, because companies are more likely to integrate the picture function to the central process unit; therefore, the market of video memory will change in the future. The video memory market is a special field in the DRAM market, which has the fierce competition. Although it is separated with the fluctuated memory market, it will only increase a little in the next year. It is predicated that ratio takes by the video memory in the entire memory market will be five percent, which is high than the last quarter of this year. But it will reduce in the fourth quarter of next year.
Some data shows the prosperity is bleak in this industry. The price of video memory is higher than the DRAM, and demand is always stable, but the substantial growth will not happen. Manufacturers choose to integrate the image process unit to the CPU, so the video memory market will be on the decline. The GPU is used to display the 2D or 3D picture, which is needed by people who like to play games. The integration is able to meet all the demand for the ordinary personal computer users, which will influence the video memory market badly.
The rate of profit in this market is very high, but it is still bland. What is more, many manufacturers have tried their best to develop it, for example, manufacturer in Japan has begun to produce the memory technology which is specialized for the video card, namely the GDDR3 and GDDR5. Obviously, more and more corporations will enter the related market in the later years. All in all, orders will be produced continuously, and its price will be decided by the cost. Although the suppliers of the video game and high-level video card will need the product continuously, the more integrated products will threat the market of video memory. The related integrated circuit is UCC2808DTR-2.
